I have been here since 1992, making me one of the “new locals.” Originally from Rhode Island, I came to Portland via Santa Fe, drawn here by the climate, gardens, beauty, and arts scene. In my downtime, I enjoy visiting the Japanese Garden or Portland Art Museum, hiking in the gorge, reading at the beach, or relaxing in our garden with my husband, Doug. We love living here!

A full-time Realtor since 2004, I primarily work in Portland’s inner neighborhoods, but have experience across the exurbs, from Gresham to Hillsboro and Lake Oswego to Scappoose. I understand that everyone’s idea of “home” is unique and use my expertise to help you achieve your real estate goals.

We interviewed three different agents before deciding to work with Tom Cotter and Doug Beebe to purchase a new home and sell our old one, a 1906 Victorian in the Hawthorne Area of Portland. While the others certainly had solid credentials, and similarly sold themselves as neighborhood experts, Tom and Doug showed they truly understood the vintage home they were dealing with, and how to prepare and sell it to the right buyer in a very finicky market. We worked primarily with Tom day-to-day, with Doug’s support on our overall selling strategy and in open houses. What was most meaningful to us throughout our engagement was Tom’s warm professionalism and positivity. We had multiple failed sales due to buyers’ loan issues or cold feet after inspection (our sticky wickets were a very tight/steep staircase and a 100 year old brick foundation). With each transaction, we felt we were very well represented as sellers, and that Tom truly cared to achieve the best result for our family. He finds a great balance between selling with urgency (we were balancing two mortgages after quickly securing our new “dream house”), and having the patience to get the right price. With so many ups and downs, Tom helped us pull everything back together, take lessons from it, and soldier on. We had a great personal connection (our toddlers couldn’t get enough of “Tall Tom”) and were ultimately very pleased with the final sale.

Tom and Doug impressed us as approachable, accessible and knowledgeable. Most of all they have that indefinable knack for making you feel as though you are their only client and are working for your best interest more than their own. From the first time Tom and Doug entered the home they treated us with dignity and sensitivity. They thoroughly outlined all that needed to be done for the sale – while keeping us in control! Some recommendations initially made us apprehensive (decommissioning an oil tank, an evaluation of the sewer system) because of the cost. But in their kind and sensitive manner, and great working history with contractors we soon realized that it was in our best interest to follow their advice. These decisions we never regretted. It is amazing to us that the journey of house preparation and sale and inspection could move so smoothly. This is entirely due to Tom Cotter + Doug Beebe. All of their predictions, timeframes, and instincts were spot on. All of them. The house sold in less than 2 weeks and we now have valued friends who we would highly recommend again and again.
